Let sleeping dogs lie:
Googled, the following things came up:
letting-sleeping-dogs-lie-in-your-bed-can-kill-you;
to not disrupt a situation that is going well as it will lead to problems;
Why should you let sleeping dogs lie? Because they’re cute, that’s why;
up to a heroic gang of cats and dogs to keep residents safe from harm …;
Should she keep silent, or can she wake the sleeping dogs?;
Let Sleeping Dogs Lie! I warn you, mom, I’m not going to like this next one!!! As for me, if somebody would clean out my bed once in a while, …;
should you work to rescue a failed case?;
What men should know before getting tested for prostate cancer;
Which brings me to my poem:
Must you remind me to let sleeping dogs lie?
I always remember once bit, twice shy.
I also remember you think you know best
But I know that this dog doesn’t need a long rest.
The scientists are saying that dogs in your bed
Can drive you to madness and screw with your head
I say that my dogs will keep me from harm
And if they don’t wake up ‘twill be cause for alarm!
I’ve worked and owned dogs now for many a year
They’re cute when they’re sleeping but take heed my dear
I warn you now Mom to take this for an answer
Go to the doctor for help with your cancer!
You can’t cure your problems by letting them be
I’m not your scapegoat so don’t look at me
You can’t cure your problems by letting them like
Don’t tell me again to let sleeping dogs lie!

Your titles seem so much better than mine 🙂
I’m enjoying your poetry and thought you did wonderfully with this look it up/make it up poem. Please consider my nomination of you for the Sunshine Award. See my Monday post if you accept. And even if you don’t, know that your poetry is definitely enjoyed by others!
